Abstract

The Regional General Hospital (RSUD) is a key healthcare institution that plays a vital
role in providing health services to the community. To maintain optimal service quality,
RSUD requires effective management of its logistical supplies. Inventory management is
crucial for the daily operations of an RSUD. Poorly managed inventory can lead to
various issues, such as shortages of essential medical supplies, resource wastage, and
difficulties in stock monitoring. At RSUD Sawerigading Kota Palopo, the logistics
department still manages inventory data manually by recording incoming and outgoing
items in a book, after this manual recording, the data is then entered into Microsoft
Excel. Due to the reliance on manual methods for inventory data processing, frequent
data entry errors occur, and inventory levels are not tracked in real-time. This situation
makes stock information inefficient. Therefore, the best solution to address this issue is
to develop an inventory system that monitors the flow of stock and supplies at
Sawerigading General Hospital in Palopo. This system will be web-based and use the
Extreme Programming (XP) methodology. The goal of this research is to design a webbased inventory management system using the Extreme Programming (XP)
methodology to address the logistical supply management issues at the hospital. The XP
methodology is chosen because it allows for faster system development and is highly
adaptable to changes that occur during the software development process. The results
and benefits of designing this inventory application include producing an efficient,
accurate, and flexible application that facilitates and simplifies the logistics inventory
management process at Sawerigading General Hospital in Palopo.
